Persisting Stars introduces ‘photography and the wonder of ’seeing’

‘Persisting stars ~ photography and the wonder of seeing‘ will teach you how to encounter the world with all of your being.  You will unearth the small and telling details surrounding you and return to faith in the ordinary by learning to respond with your emotions, experiencing the wonder of seeing in a captivating  new way.

Through a series of simple and delightful weekly exercises  we will get in touch with spontaneity, creativity and our imagination to put expression before technique.…experimenting with engaging techniques that break photographic rules and put us in the path of happy accidents.

There is a vast difference between looking and seeing and by getting to the essence of our subject matter we can disclose compelling stories sharing our world in a beautifully fresh way that becomes our very own signature style.

Through this five week course you will learn to:

~truly see outside of yourself
(by getting out of your traditional way of looking, abstracting)

~develop your imagination

~express themes, subject matter, and emotions through a newly awakened way of ’seeing’

Persisting Stars ~ photography and the wonder of seeing five week course beginning Sunday January 10, 2010 is sold out and I am now accepting registration for the next class beginning Sunday March 28, 2010. This is a small and intimate class with thoughtful feedback on your assignment images. Assignments/lessons  will be posted on the course blog and our online ’studio’ will be shared on a flickr group. You will need a camera, a flickr account (very easy to join up) and a notebook with some freshly sharpened pencils or colorful pens.
