bicycles, painting parties and a giveaway ~ yay!

I am fully in the midst of a move ~ which, well, is not the loveliest way to spend hours upon hours I must say. There are several silver linings however as this morning I am shopping for paint ~ beautiful rich painterly yellow’s, deep indian blues and even a gorgeous green somehow insisted on sneaking in there. I am not above asking if anyone out there would like to come by and pitch in as I am having a painting party ~ I will be supplying autumn soups, rustic bread, salads, music and guinness beer:)

The weather is so beautiful and this afternoon I am going to take my bicycle out for a little spin down to the beach to take some photo’s with my new Holga ~ and some pictures of my front porch. I think I am going to miss my front porch most of all in the house I am about to leave. So many soft evenings of star gazing twined with mornings sipping coffee, a beautiful book.

Yesterday I drove past my very own ‘unphotographable’ ~ (this is a picture I did not take) ~ a woman dancing happily to the music on her ipod at the bus stop ~ all the while staring at herself in the reflection of the bus stop stand mirror, completely unconcerned with the surprised (and delighted) stares of passerby’s. Made me smile:)

Oh! and I have a giveaway today over at Soulemama ~ so pop by and say hi:) Have a most wonderful Saturday:)

There is always something sad about leaving a previous house, but how exciting to be moving forward. Good luck with the painting party.

Oh, I so love to paint, but Texas is a bit far away. It sounds wonderful. A new house, new beginnings. Kiss your front porch goodbye for me. :)

I love that woman, dancing in bliss and catching her reflection…this is the way to live!!

If I lived closer I would happily come and help you paint…I’m a whiz with a roller and a paint brush and can think of nothing that makes me happier than painting…I’ve always loved it!

Oh yes leaving a house feels, well sometimes a bit sad, but mostly like stage butterflies. Out of the pupa into the air. I so look forward to seeing you play with your Holga! What strange and lovely images you’ll capture.

Oh Maddy how I wish I could be there to help you sweet girl. Painting is my favorite thing to do! Drives my poor husband batty. I hope your move does not prove to bee too stressful and that your new home brings you as much joy as this one has.

Good morning, my friend. You are moving? I want to hear all about it. And if I lived close to you, I’d help you paint. The painting party sounds like fun. You’ll have a terrific time. And hurray for your new Holga! I can’t to see what magical images you take on it. Anyhoo, I’m about to drop you a longer email. Hope you are having a good Monday morning.

Moving is one of those bittersweet things…the packing and cleaning and saying goodbye is no fun…but entering a new space and making it your very own is so wonderful!
Happy painting! I wish I could join you.

Dearest Mads, we must catch up soon. Things have been crazy busy, first in London, then here w/ guests. And am about to depart for two weeks again. I know leaving the house can’t be easy…but keep in mind that you are opening new doors and windows of opportunity…goodness unfolding and perhaps a little magic flowing… Thinking of you and sending big hugs and lots of love. Talk soon. xoxox
