surreal things with a dash of improv

Susanna’s winged messenger placed quite joyfully on the ferry I took over to the Island while visiting my Mother:)

A very spontaneous day when suddenly I felt compelled to visit an art gallery and went down to the AGO ~ and oh! there was a wonderful exhibit called Surreal things which seemed quite suited to my state of mind oddly enough.

I was utterly transfixed as I wandered through room after room of stage sets filled with ballet costumes, gorgeous illustrations, ‘shocking’ perfume bottles, furniture, Cocteau’s films and seriously stunning photographs. I have to say there is nothing more enlivening and meditative all in the same breath as an afternoon spent wandering through an art gallery. As I was leaving I stumbled upon a bride and groom who were getting married in the gallery and snapped some  photo’s of the ‘kiss” and let it be said here and now I love kissing.  Kissing makes the world a better place for sure:) Tomorrow is Sunday and I plan to celebrate with cupcakes and a day in Kensington Market ~ what are you up to?

immerse yourself in a little improv joy to bring a BIG smile to your Sunday:) ~ read all about Improv everywhere here:)

Have a splendid Sunday!

It was such a day for me also, all spontaneity, though not involving art galleries or weddings – a day of driving country roads I’d not been down before, of happening upon a pond full of white geese, a day full of the joy of no particular place to go.

What a lucky bride & groom to have a Maddie photo of a kiss.

I love it when you stumble upon unexpectedly lovely events, whether it be a fabulous exhibit at an art gallery or a wedding. And the photo is such a happy one – those great ferry crossings in B.C. Enjoy your Sunday. xoxox

You’re in Toronto?! I wondered what AGO could have stood for in B.C. What do you think of the Frank Gehry addition to the front of the Gallery? The exhibition sounds fascinating. Were there any clothes by Shiaparelli on display? Have you checked out The Dead Sea Scrolls at the Royal Ontario Museum (ROM)? I wish I had time to see that exhibition during my trip to TO earlier this month. Will you be meeting up with Gillian? Well, wherever you are, I hope you have a wonderful time.

PS: Called you today. Let’s chat when you get back.

Oh, I love, love, love this link. I have watched it so many times. It makes me smile every single time. My daughter thinks it’s the best idea ever and plans to do “that kind of kooky stuff” some day.
